PROBLEM
University of Washington is home to a broad spectrum of arts, culture, and design, but the arts lack visibility amongst students on campus. Many students and people outside the campus community feel that the arts scene at UW is not for them, or they simply do not know it exists.
RESEARCH
Inspired by London's public art takeovers, our team explored how art could become more visible and accessible across the UW campus. Through student surveys, interviews, and collaborative workshops, we investigated why students might feel intimidated by arts events and what could encourage greater participation. We also researched high-traffic areas across campus, identifying strategic locations where art installations could reach the most students. I helped translate these findings into an inclusive visual identity and environmental design strategy, transforming everyday campus spaces into accessible opportunities for creative discovery and engagement.
SOLUTIONS
Art Lives Here begins on October 1st, International Music Day, and October 25th, International Artist Day. We created a set of symbols that reflect the architectural structure of the buildings that are home to arts on UW’s campus. We overlap our symbols as a motif through our brand system to reflect how each building is a part of the larger UW Arts community.

I envision expanding the campaign through rotating, student-curated art installations in unexpected campus spaces. By inviting students to contribute their own work, Art Lives Here could evolve from a visual campaign into a platform for creative expression and community collaboration.
